2005 — Two innocent Grade 1 kids get seated next to each other. Marco insists Despina bullied him. Despina insists she was an angel. The truth remains… disputed.

IT ALL
2010 — Fate (and the seating chart) reunites us in Afrikaans class. We bond over getting kicked out regularly. A strong academic partnership.
2012 — We officially become best friends. Marco upgrades his feelings. Despina kindly declines the software update. Friendship mode continues.
2013 — A Rihanna concert changes everything. Suddenly the feelings are mutual. Thanks, RiRi.
2017 — First big adventure: same university, far from home. New city, new memories, and a love story getting stronger by the day.
2022 — We level up again: moving halfway across the world together and figuring out how to be proper independent adults (still learning).
2025 — After 11 years, Marco finally locks it down. We’re engaged and ready to make forever official.
2026 — On 12/12, in front of our favourite people, we become one. And honestly… this still feels like just the beginning.

Dress Code
In keeping with the tone of the event, we kindly ask that all guests observe a formal dress code. Please note, as it will be the peak of summer in the Western Cape vineyards, so dress accordingly and to comfort.
Ladies – think elegant summer dresses, midi or full length, heels encouraged. Bring flats! Men – Suits, with shirt and tie – linen or classic welcome.
Stay & Travel
While it is completely your decision, we strongly advise you to stay closer to the venue on the night of the wedding. There are many beautiful accommodation venues around the neighbouring wine farms. We have made a few block bookings on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.
For those who do not wish to drive, we have been told that Ubers are available in the area but can be unreliable so please try pre-book these. We have been advised that EZ shuttles is cost-effective and can cater up to 20 people per trip.
